I graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a BA (Hons) Design in June 2009. My final collection of textiles is woven in wool and cotton, and is derived from photographs taken at an abandoned airbase in Lincolnshire. The textures and colours provided by these images of eroded, weathered and dessicated surfaces of buildings provided a rich source of design material for the weaving process. By drawing from these images, trying to emulate the textures, and then translating some of these effects into woven structures, I created a collection of bold, colourful woven fabrics which have been utilised in the context of fabric for interiors. Included on these pages is some of my initial research, drawings and finished fabrics.
